Trial Serial Number Not Found 5 Replies

Hi,I recently downloaded the evaluation version of RhinoNest 3.0 but for whatever reason i am having problems with the license. If I go to the license manager for RN within R5 it gives me 3 options....Evaluation version / Product Key / Zoo. When I click Evaluation Version nothing happens and no other menus appear. I tested Clayoo and within the Clayoo License manager a drop down menu appears which requires you to enter your details. After filling in these details clayoo worked fine.If anyone can offer some support it would be great! Thanks, FarleyContinue

Trial version, cannot import dxf files 6 Replies

Hello,I am working in marine industry and use some specialized software for nesting hull parts, sophisticated in stock material management, but weak in automated optimisation. Got curious about possibilities of RhinoNest and installed trial version (I have commercial Rhino 5 64 bit on Windows 7). However, I cannot import dxf files for nesting:Is there any limitation in trial version or there is something wrong with my dxf files?Attached set of dxf filesThank anyone in advance for helpContinue

RhinoNest results in python

Hi,I m using RhinoNest in Python in order to get the transformations instead of the transformed objects, but do not get any result.i am using a dummy callback    def rncallback(d):         return dand the call to RhinoNest :    nres = System.Collections.Generic.List[RNT.RhinoNestNesting.Result]().ToArray()    output, result=nest.DoNest(nres, rncallback)    for r in result:        rot=Rhino.Geometry.Transform.Rotation(r.angle, Rhino.Geometry.Plane.WorldXY.ZAxis, Rhino.Geometry.Plane.WorldXY.Origin)        trns=Rhino.Geometry.Transform.Translation( r.x, r.y, 0)        l.append(rot*trns)I get True as ouptut and an empty result array as result. Can anyone indicate what i am missing ?I already tried using arrays directly, but couldn t get one of the right type, and i am out of ideas.Regards-BOCK Thierry-Continue

Custom Tags Using Grasshopper Components 2 Replies

Hello,I am working on a complex set of geometry for a Pavilon Project we are doing at our school. Our research lab purchased a few seats of your software for general purpose use. Because of the complex geometry and the need to phase the assembly of the project we need to use custom text tags. These text tags are already single stroke geometry ready for etching into our elements. I am working in grasshopper and trying to use the rhino nest components to nest some parts for our cnc (it does the nesting quite nicely). I alredy have these text tags created and associated with the geometry I am trying to nest but the order of the geometry coming out of the component seems to be different than the input order of the geometry and thus our tags get all messed up. is there a way to: 1. Reorder the output list to match the input list, or2. Co-sort and transform another set of geometry to match the geometry being nested, or3.…Continue

gh remap error 3 Replies

Hi Rafael,I have a slightly odd result coming from my remap component in gh. Some of the elements are standing upright, rather than lying down on their largest face. And they are also stacked across each other, rather than spreading out in a row.I have baked the same objects and re-mapped them in rhino and they come out fine. Is there something I can do to correct this? Many thanksJack MunroContinue

RhinoNest breaking Groups and overlapping parts 2 Replies

Hello,I am a student working on the trial version of RhinoNest 3.0.  I have looked at some of the posts in the forum regarding overlapping objects when nesting and have followed suggestions I have found there to prevent overlapping of parts on nesting.  I have ungrouped all, exploded, joined, regrouped and mapped to cplane all of which has helped my results, but. . .Now when I try to nest, each group is nested as a separate set of component parts.  What is my next step?Continue
