RhinoNest, nesting for Rhino

Optimize Position and Orientation of Objects

Hi,

We are adding interesting improvements these days, and we would like to ask you about the object rotations.

Now you can define if you want a rotate all the objects in mode 90º, 180º, Free or Fixed. We are planning to add this option also by items. It means we can define 5 objects free and the others in 90º.

What do you think?

Thanks,

Interesting idea.

You guys are on fire!

I think this is an awesome idea.

I run into this problem all the time. If an item is nested on a metal or alloy for example that will later be formed with a sharp radius, it will crack if it is not nested relative to the metal sheet grain.

So now, when I nest the parts, I may not care about some parts but there may be some that I do care about. Currently, I nest all parts and manually rotate the parts to be formed by hand. In a tight nest though, it may not be possible. This function would greatly help me.
Hello there

My name is Robert and I work in furniture design. I would like to ask you, how could I preserve the sheets grain on my pieces?
Is there any possibility to keep the fiber fixed for some elements, or for all the elements that should be nested?
I've seen your RhinoNest Furniture video, but it's not so clear for me how can I do this.

Thank you in advance.
Hi,

You can do it. When you select the objects, click on the graphical editor:

Then , you can select the freedom for one or more objects independently, You can define fixed and then the object is moved but not rotated. I think also 180º can be good.

Do this answer your question?
